# Carpet cleaning guide: stains, drying and drop-off

This carpet cleaning guide covers fabric checks, stains and drying. SPG rugs are drop-off only, at 15 Lei/kg, with collection after 4–5 business days.

## In brief

A carpet cleaning guide must start with the fibre, backing and colour stability. At Spălătoria Germană, rugs and carpets are brought to and collected from the service location in person; home transport is not available for them.

## Routine care and fresh spills

Vacuum with a suitable attachment without pulling fringes or damaged sections. Blot liquid with a clean cloth and avoid soaking the backing. Moisture may remain deep inside or underneath even when the surface looks dry.

Test any compatible product discreetly. Stop if colour transfers. Wool, synthetic fibres, plant-based materials and glued backings should not all receive the same treatment. ## Before drop-off

Note stains, persistent smells, existing damage and previously applied products. Mention fragile fringes, unstable dyes or crumbling backing. Fitted carpet is different from a removable rug: do not assume a drop-off service includes on-site treatment.

## After cleaning

Check that the rug is fully dry before placing it on the floor or rolling it for storage. Cleaning does not automatically repair fading, worn fibres or degraded backing. It is not presented as medical treatment or a sterilisation guarantee.

### Will you collect my rug from home?
No. Rugs and carpets must be dropped off and collected in person at the service location.

### Will every stain disappear?
That cannot be guaranteed. Material, stain age and previous treatments affect what cleaning can achieve.
