Record what happened
Note the item, programme, product, dose and load. Is every garment affected or just one? Does the issue appear after washing or after drying? Keep the label and avoid further treatments until you identify the change.

Match the next step to the symptom
For odours, review the whole laundry routine. For stains, avoid ironing before assessment. Compare detergent instructions with the load and water hardness.
If a garment shrank or faded, do not assume a household restoration recipe will repair its fibres. Stop experimenting on valuable items and request assessment.
When the appliance may need attention
Errors, leaks, unusual noises or burning smells are not resolved by adding a product. Stop using the appliance when safety is affected and follow the manual or service advice. Do not dismantle electrical components to investigate a laundry result.
