Sweat smell in clothes is not automatically solved by stronger fragrance or extra detergent. Review the entire routine: handling after wear, washing, rinsing and drying.

Identify when it appears

Does the smell occur immediately after washing, develop in storage or return only during wear? Note the difference. If several loads are affected, inspect the appliance routine; if it is one sports shirt, check that item's material and instructions.

Avoid leaving sweaty clothing compressed in a closed bag. Separate damp items and plan washing without mixing them into clean laundry.

Change one thing at a time

  1. Respect programme capacity and allow textiles to move.
  2. Measure detergent instead of adding a little extra every time.
  3. Check whether conditioner is permitted for sportswear.
  4. Remove clothes promptly and dry as labelled.
  5. Clean accessible machine components according to the manual.

For residue or poor rinsing, see water hardness and dosing. Do not mix vinegar, bleach and other products in an attempt to speed up treatment.

Reassess persistent problems

If the smell remains after improving the routine, request assessment and describe treatments already tried. Do not exceed the care-label temperature or assume ironing disinfects every fabric. The laundry troubleshooting guide helps distinguish possible causes.

Frequently asked questions

Does stronger fragrance mean cleaner laundry?

No. Product scent does not establish soil removal, effective rinsing or complete drying.

Can I wash sportswear at high temperature?

Stay within its label limits. Stretch fibres, prints and finishes may require different treatment from towels.
